16 business groups released a joint statement after the governor signed Senate Bill 328 Friday afternoon.
Matthew Hart, Executive Director of the Illinois Trucking Association, says the new law makes businesses targets for lawsuits.
The American Tort Reform Association labeled Illinois a “Lawsuit Inferno” when the General Assembly passed the bill in late May.
Illinois Senate President Don Harmon sponsored the legislation, supported by the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
