A Vandalia man is facing a total of 4 charges in Fayette County Court, including a charge of Armed Violence.
25 year old Benjamin J. Springsteen is charged with Armed Violence, which is a Class X Felony. Information in the charge says that Springsteen was armed with a dangerous weapon, being a H & R Revolver while he was also in Possession of Methamphetamine. Springsteen is also charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, which is a Class 3 Felony. He is also charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police for allegedly not stopping when signaled to do so by a Vandalia Police Officer. That charge is a Class A Misdemeanor. Springsteen is also charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, which is also a Class A Misdemeanor.
In Fayette County Court, the People’s Petition to deny Pretrial release was granted so defendant will remain in the Fayette County Jail. Springsteen will next appear in court on September 9th at 9 am.
