(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois State Fair is introducing updated security measures this year. The changes are designed to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. New this year are metal detectors and bag checks at all Grandstand entrances. No backpacks, duffle bags or purses larger than 14 by 8 inches are allowed into the Grandstand. Other items not allowed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds include firearms, weapons of any kind, illegal substances Drones or laser pointers, and fireworks or flammable materials.
