(Mt Vernon, IL) — Authorities are identifying two people killed in a mass shooting in Mount Vernon. Police say gunfire erupted early yesterday in the 600 block of South 15th Street. Zomarrius Williams, Demonta Woodward, and five other victims suffered gunshot wounds. Williams and Woodward died at the hospital. Jerria Smith was arrested and charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice. More charges are expected to be filed.
