Meanwhile, there is a chance of a severe storm tonight. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into northeast Missouri and western Illinois late this evening. A few of these storms may be strong to severe between 8PM and midnight. Gusty winds of up to 40-60 mph is the main threat, in addition to locally heavy rainfall. Storms should gradually weaken overnight as they progress to the south and east.
