The City of Vandalia will find out where their water rates fall–if they are too high or too low–with a new study.
The study will be performed by the Illinois Rural Water Association. Alderman Bret Brosman–who is the head of the City’s Water & Sewer Committee–said the study would be performed free of charge.
The City Council voted unanimously to have the study performed.
Meanwhile, the City of Vandalia will be looking for a new Superintendent for the Water Department. The City Council learned at Monday’s meeting that current Water Superintendent Andy Gelsinger will be leaving his position with his last day on August 14th.
