(Peoria, IL) — A man is charged in the death of an infant in Peoria. Police say officers responded Tuesday to the 300 block of South Kersee on a report of a seven-month-old baby who wasn’t breathing. The child was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators were told that a parent rolled over onto the child during the night and discovered the baby unresponsive the next morning. However, an autopsy revealed internal injuries consistent with a traumatic, non-accidental death. Detectives then arrested Dwayne Davis on multiple charges, including Murder and Endangering the Life and Health of a Child Resulting in Death.
