Heavy Rains hit area last night, now leading into a dry period

It looks quite some time for the rains to get here, but once they did they brought some big time downpours to Fayette County.

Areas all around us had been seeing rains throughout the evening, but they had been sliding just away from Fayette County.  But, that all changed just before 9 pm when the skies opened up and brought a prolonged period of heavy rains to the area.  That led to a Flash Flood Warning for Fayette County until 12:15 am.  Even after the rains let up, they kept coming down at a slower pace for quite some time—bringing flash flooding to the area.
