Showers & Storms possible this afternoon and tonight–a few strong to severe storms are possible

Showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and tonight over the area.  And, a few strong to severe storms are also possible.

Our forecast for today says we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms–mainly this afternoon–with a high of 88.  Then, a chance of showers and storms for tonight with a low of 69.

Meanwhile, we do have a chance of a strong to severe storm this afternoon and tonight.  The National Weather Service in St. Louis says scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon, becoming more numerous along the front this evening. A few of the thunderstorms could produce localized damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.
