(Clinton, IL) — Meta will be buying power from a nuclear power plant in central Illinois. The company of Facebook and Instagram announced it has an agreement to purchase power from the Clinton Clean Energy Center in Clinton for 20 years to run data operations and support its development of artificial intelligence. The deal starts in 2027. Meta says this agreement “ensures a critical plant will stay online and meet growing energy needs.”
