Ethel Elizabeth “Betty” Britton of Bensenville, Illinois was born to Toldie and Mildred Swarm on December 12, 1928 in Vandalia, Illinois. She passed away May 17, 2025 in the hospital in Elk Grove, Illinois, at the age of 96.
Betty was beloved wife of the late Louis William “Bill” Britton, loving mom to Barry (Phyllis Reed) and the late Kent (late Michelle Barker). She was a dear sister to Jerry (Sandra) Swarm, proud “nema” to Lyra Britton, Andrea Britton, Dylan (Brooke) Britton, Marcy Ferone, Matt Ferone and the late Dave Ferone, great-grandma to Louis Toldie, Aspen, Everett, Lucie, Tyler, Jenessa, Alexandra, Jack, David and Sereno, fond aunt to Mark (late Timi) Swarm and Michael (Carolyn) Swarm, great-aunt to Dustin (Erin) Swarm, Stephen (Katie) Swarm, Zoe (Brendan) Roadman, Trent Swarm and fiancee Emily Stahl, Christopher, Wyatt and Tristan Swarm.
Betty was a faithful, devoted and active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bensenville, Illinois. She served on the church council for many years. The church was the heart of her spiritual life.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 am on June 14, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, Illinois with Dennis Warner of North Side Christian Church officiating.
