She was born October 25, 2021, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Russell McElroy & Dawn Helton. Alaina’s favorite color was purple and she loved the outdoors, especially, fishing and going on side-by-side rides. To anyone that knew Alaina, she was the moon to their stars, the ray of sunshine in the storm, the calm to their chaos, the rainbow on a spring day, the perfect cast of life. Her eyes and smile could brighten the darkest days and nights and times in life. Her hugs could melt the arctic ice to a warm flowing stream. She was the best mixture of sugar and spice, the sour patch kid of our lives. To our darling June Bug, gone to soon but will never be forgotten, listen to grandpa on how to tie your hook. Endless love until we fish again.
She is survived by her Parents – Russell McElroy and Dawn Helton, of Kinmundy, IL; Brothers and Sisters – Kathy McElroy, Oscar Rhodes, Willow Rhodes all of Kinmundy, Jersey Blackman, Skylar McElroy both of Centralia, IL, and Jasmine McElroy of Odin, IL; Maternal Grandparents – Dennis E. Helton of Vandalia, IL and Margaret Barnett of Hagarstown, IL; Paternal Grandmother – Janet McElroy of Brownstown, IL; Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
She is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather – Darl McElroy; Uncle – Timothy Allan; and Great Aunt – Dianna Lynn Helton.
