(McDonough Co., IL) — Health officials are reporting that the West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes in McDonough County. Officials say mosquitoes collected on Tuesday in Bushnell tested positive for the virus. Last year, 72 counties in Illinois had reports of the West Nile virus in mosquitoes, birds, horses or humans. There were 69 confirmed human cases and 13 deaths.
