The 2025 IHSA baseball postseason gets underway today with four I70Sports teams in action today. In Class 2A, Vandalia opens up play in the Newton Regional by going on the road to play at Flora for their quarterfinal game at 4:30pm. The two teams just played each other on Saturday with that game also at Flora and the Vandals came out on top, 10-0. The winner of today’s game will move on the semifinals to face Teutopolis at 4:00pm on Wednesday at Jasper County Boys and Girls Park.
In Class 1A, Brownstown-St. Elmo will open up on the road as they travel to Cisne for their quarterfinal matchup at 4:30pm as part of the South Central Regional. The winner of that game will move on to the Semifinals to face top-seeded North Clay on Wednesday at 4:30pm at Lions Field in Kinmundy. Mulberry Grove is on the road for their quarterfinal matchup of the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Regional. They travel to Okawville today to face the Rockets at 4:30pm with the winner advancing to the Semifinals to place Marissa on Wednesday. Rounding out the area teams beginning postseason play today is Ramsey who will be on the road at Edinburg for their quarterfinal matchup at 4:30pm in the Pawnee Regional. The winner will move on to the Semifinals to take on Neoga on Wednesday.
As for other area 1A teams, Altamont has a quarterfinal round BYE and will begin postseason play in the semifinals of the Dieterich Regional on Wednesday at 6:15pm against the winner Martinsville and Casey-Westfield. South Central hosts its own Regional and will play in the Semifinals on Wednesday at 7:00pm against Bridgeport Red Hill. CHBC will be the last area team to begin postseason play as they are in the Okaw Valley Regional and a after a quarterfinal round BYE, they will take on Nokomis in the Semifinals on Thursday at 4:30pm in Bethany.
