The National Weather Service in St. Louis is updating the latest on severe weather for the area Friday.
The NWS says thunderstorms will develop along and southeast of I-44 in Missouri and I-70 in Illinois Friday afternoon and continue into Friday evening. Several thunderstorms are expected to become severe and will be capable of producing baseball sized hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. This will make it dangerous for anyone who is outside.
As for timing, the latest onset time for our area is estimated at 3 pm to 6 pm on Friday afternoon/evening.
