Despite talk to the contrary, interest in solar and wind farm projects for the area remains strong.

Fayette County Board member Merrill Collins says there is still a lot of interest in such projects.

And, Collins says many of the objections he hears he believes are more about this being new and fear of the unknown.

The Fayette County Board approved a solar farm project at Tuesday’s meeting, that Collins will be about 200 acres south of Vandalia along U.S. Route 51.
