House Republican members held a press conference in Springfield on Tuesday to discuss wasteful spending cuts and DOGE opportunities in Illinois.
State Representative Blaine Wilhour says Illinois certainly has a spending problem.
Wilhour added the state is spending more now than ever on education and the proficiencies are in absolute crisis. The end of the session is coming on May 31st, which means a vote on a new state budget for the upcoming fiscal year will be taking place very soon.
