Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball tied the game up in the fifth inning but couldn’t stop Christ Our Rock who added two more runs in the sixth as the Bombers fell 4 to 2 at home on Thursday night. Christ Our Rock took an early lead with a pair of first inning runs, and that 2-0 lead held until the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lane Stine aboard after a single and courtesy runner Calvin Voelker on base to run for Corey Hoopingarner who reached on an error, Keelan Speagle singled to center field allowing both Voelker and Stine to score and tie the game up at 2-2. The Silver Stallions responded with another pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning to regain the lead over BSE. The Bombers were unable to score in the bottom of the sixth or seventh inning, taking the 4-2 loss. BSE drops to 6-13 on the season and will be off till Monday when they play their annual game at Grizzlies Ballpark in Sauget against Mulberry Grove.
