(Chicago, IL) — Governor Pritzker will testify before Congress about the state’s immigration policies. The governor’s office confirmed that he will “voluntarily appear” before the U.S. House Oversight Committee on June 12th, alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and New York Governor Kathy Hochul. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson testified before the committee in March about Chicago’s sanctuary city policy. Republicans in Washington have attempted to stop progressive immigration policies since Trump took office in January.
