(Chatham, IL) — State police are releasing more details about the investigation into the deadly crash this week at an after school camp in Chatham. ISP Director Brendan Kelly says some evidence has indicated the possibility of a medical emergency leading up to Monday’s crash. A vehicle crashed into the YNOT After School Camp and hit numerous people inside the building before exiting the other side. Two seven-year-olds, an eight-year-old and 18-year-old were killed in the incident. The driver of the vehicle, Marianne Akers, was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and released. Initial testing showed no alcohol and controlled substances in her system. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
