
Fayette County Sheriff Ronnie Stevens has provided a report on the damage that has been found as of this time from Wednesday night’s Severe Storms and Tornado.
Sheriff Stevens says that five properties were found that sustained damaged in an area over 2 miles. The properties were houses with outbuildings and were destroyed throughout. One house where it is believed the back porch flew off the residence and landed on the house causing the roof to collapse and the home is uninhabitable at this time. Another residence sustained a partial wall collapse to the garage and several windows were knocked out. Sheriff Stevens adds this individual was not able to stay at their residence at this time due to the damage. He says the other three residents were able to stay at their homes.
Sheriff Stevens does add more damage may be found with daylight today. Sheriff Stevens says he believes Fayette County EMA Director Rachel Denning will be touring the damage today with the National Weather Service.
