The Illinois House of Representatives has passed legislation that involves the usage of plastic foodware. The measure provides that a third party food delivery platform or third party online ordering platform must allow consumers to request single use foodware when ordering food or beverages from a restaurant through the platform. State Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz is the bill’s sponsor.
State Representative Patrick Windhorst wants to know why the Illinois General Assembly needs to be involved.
The bill now heads to the Illinois Senate for consideration.
