(Springfield, IL) — Illinoisans are big fans of the current state flag. Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced that the current state flag was the overwhelming winner of the Flag Redesign Contest.
Voters were given the option to choose one of the new designs, or one of three former flag designs. The Illinois General Assembly will now decide on whether to adopt a new flag or keep the current flag design on April 1st.
