(Chicago, IL) — Former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar is battling pancreatic cancer. The 78-year-old announced yesterday that doctors at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and at the Mayo Clinic are coordinating on a treatment regimen. Edgar served as governor from 1991 to 1999. He previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives and as Secretary of State.
