Mulberry Grove grabbed a second quarter lead over South Central and held that lead as the Aces got a 67 to 55 win over the Cougars on Friday night. South Central outscored Mulberry Grove for a 13-10 first quarter lead. The Aces would come back in the second quarter and go on a 19-7 run to pull ahead of the Cougars, 29-20, at halftime. South Central would get some momentum and outscore Mulberry Grove 16-13 in the third quarter to cut the game to six points with the Aces still leading 39-33 as the game shifted to the fourth quarter. Both teams would go on big scoring binges in the fourth quarter, combining for 50 points in the period with the Aces outscoring the Cougars 28-22 to finish out the win, 67-55. Mulberry Grove improves to 12-16 on the season, having won three in a row. They will take on Neoga today at 11:30am in the first game of the NTC/CIC Shootout at Altamont. South Central now stands at 17-11 on the season and will be in action at home on Tuesday against OPH.
