Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball suffered a 53 to 31 loss to a tough 2A Paris Tigers team on Senior Night on Tuesday. Prior to the game, seniors Katie Berner and Jaydin Huddlestun were honored. Scoring came often early for both teams as the Bombers and Tigers went tit for tat with Paris just outscoring BSE 15-14 in the quarter. The second quarter would be much of the same with each team scoring two field goals each and then tacking on a few points from the free throw line as Paris again just outscore BSE, 8-7, as the Lady Bombers trailed 23-21 at halftime. BSE would struggle offensively in the second half though while Paris reeled off a 16-4 third quarter run and a 14-6 fourth quarter run as the Lady Bombers could not get enough stops to stop the Tigers offensive flow as BSE suffered the 53-31 loss. BSE ends the regular season at 24-6 and will now be off until Monday when they will begin postseason play in the South Regional as the #3 seed. They will take on the winner of the quarterfinal game between South Central and Mt. Olive on Monday at 7:30pm.
