Ramsey girls basketball evened up their Egyptian Illini Conference record with a 42 to 29 win over Martinsville on Senior Night on Friday. The Lady Rams came out quick to start the game and ran out to a 14-4 first quarter lead. Both teams would have some offensive struggles in the second quarter as they each would put up just four points in the frame and Ramsey held on to their 10-point lead at halftime, 18-8. While offense would pick up for both the Lady Rams and the BlueStreaks in the third quarter, it would be a back and forth battle with Ramsey outscoring Martinsville by a small 15-13 margin, but that would allow the Ramsey lead to edge out further to 33-21 at the end of three quarters. The offensive back and forth continued through the fourth quarter with the Rams again just outscoring the BlueStreaks, 9-8, as the Ramsey sealed the 42-29 win. Ramey moves to 6-14 on the season and to 1-1 in the EIC. They will have a busy week next week, playing three games in the final week of the regular season as they will host Sangamon Valley/Tri-City on Monday, go on the road to Bunker Hill on Wednesday and then will wrap up the regular season at home on Thursday as they host CHBC in their regular season finale and their final EIC game.
