An accident on U.S. Route 40 in Fayette County led to one individual being air lifted to an area hospital on Tuesday.
Illinois State Police Reports say the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at 12:44 pm on U.S. Route 40 at North 1050 Street west of Bluff City. Information from the ISP says that Troop 9 responded for the report of a two-unit traffic crash with injuries. U.S. Route 40 was closed during this time. The State Police added that one occupant was air lifted to an area hospital with injuries and that all lanes for Route 40 re-opened by 2 pm. State Police stated that information on the accident is still limited at this time.
