Man Shot And Kills Himself With Officer’s Gun In Charleston

(Charleston, IL) — A man is dead after shooting himself with an officer’s gun in Charleston. Authorities say officers were called out Saturday to the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue to conduct a well-being check on a man who called 911 requesting immediate assistance. An officer was disarmed and the 22-year-old man shot and killed himself with the weapon. The incident is under investigation.
