A new bar/liquor store could be coming to Vandalia.
At last week’s Vandalia City Council meeting, the family that owns Harry’s 66 Liquor Store came before the City Council as they were requesting new liquor licenses and a gaming license for a new business they are looking to bring to the north end of town. The new business would be located on the vacant lot next to Sonic and across from Pizza Hut. Urvish Amin explained to the Vandalia City Council this would be a liquor store and also a different type of bar that would be new to Vandalia.
The family has purchased the property already and are planning a 6,000 to 8,000 square foot facility. They were requesting both a Class D and Class G Liquor License and also a Gaming License. The City Council had the first reading at their November 4th meeting and would like act on the licenses at their meeting on November 18th. Amin also reiterated this is a second business as they will keep their current location open in downtown Vandalia.
