The 81st annual Vandalia Lion’s Club Halloween Parade is set for tonight in downtown Vandalia.
The parade will get underway at 7 pm with the theme of “Fairy Tails” for this year. Longtime Lion’s Club member John Dotray will be the Grand Marshal for tonight’s parade.
Registration for the parade will begin at 5 pm at the former Washington School, with the parade starting at 7 pm at the top of Gallatin Street hill at the Courthouse.
As for candy, participants are encouraged to handout candy or take candy to the curb during the parade and drop it but they are asked not to throw the candy.
As for weather, the rain should have long moved on and leave a pleasant night for the parade. Temperatures should be in the middle 50s during tonight’s parade.
