Early Voting for the November General Election begins today.
Early voting for all precincts will be conducted in the Fayette County Courthouse, 221 S 7th St., Vandalia, IL, 8:00 am-4:00pm. Any voter validly registered in Fayette County may vote during the early voting period; however, any vote cast is final and may not be revoked, and the voter is not eligible to cast a vote on Election Day.
Meanwhile, with the start of early voting, the Fayette County Courthouse and premises will transition into a Campaign Free Zone. If you prefer not to remove bumper stickers/decals from your vehicle, you are asked that you refrain from parking on the property.
As a Polling location, the Fayette County Courthouse and its grounds are now officially designated as a Campaign Free Zone, statute 10ILCS 5/7-41.
Please be advised that individuals entering the grounds with campaign-related materials ( including hats, shirts, masks, decals, etc.) will be politely asked to cover or remove such items.

Sec. 29-11. Failure to comply with order of election authority. Any person who knowingly fails or refuses to comply with any lawful order of an election authority issued by the election authority in the performance of the duties of the election authority, shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
