Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball used a big fourth inning to get their first win of the season with an 11-8 win at Webber on Thursday. A run in each of the first two innings put BSE up 2-0 before Webber was able to tie I tup 2-2 in the bottom of the third inning. The Bombers offense erupted for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning as BSE took control of the game with a 9-2 lead. Webber cut the lead to 9-3 but BSE responded with another 2 runs in the top of the sixth, further pushing their lead out to 11-3. Webber cut into the lead again with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut it to 11-6 and managed another pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh, but BSE was able to hold on and grab the 11-8 win. BSE has three players finish with 3 hits each as Corey Hoopingarner and Gavin Sanders both went 3-3 at the plate and Keelan Speagle went 3-5 for the day. BSE events up their record at 1-1 to start the season and will go back on the road on Monday to take on Odin with game time set for 6:30pm.
