
Jonathan Isaiah Davis, 32, of Vandalia, Illinois, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 29, 2024, at SBL Fayette County Hospital.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Family Worship Center in Vandalia with Pastor Tracy Zimmerman officiating. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Rural Ramsey will follow. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church (FWC). Memorials may be made to the Family Worship Center Youth Fund. He was born November 16, 1991, in Hillsboro, IL, to Darwin “Joe” Davis and Sylvia Ann (Hebenstreit) Davis. He earned an associate’s degree from Lakeland College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University. Jonathan was employed by Heartland Dental as a Patient Service Representative.
Jonathan’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of Family Worship Center and was involved in every ministry the church offers. He was passionate about serving others and derived great pleasure from making a positive difference in the lives of others. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed hosting family holidays and game nights. Jonathan didn’t know a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Everyone who knew Jonathan knew his kindness, compassionate nature, witty sense of humor, and loving spirit. His passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. Jonathan’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Joe Davis & Sylvia of Vandalia; brothers, Joseph (Amanda) Davis and Timothy Davis, all of Ramsey; sisters, Christina (Chuck) Jones of Effingham, Laura (Jay) Hill of Ramsey, Sarah Phelps of Ramsey, and Mary (Zeke) Philpot of Vandalia; 11 nieces and nephews; and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul & Marietta Hebenstreit and Wilbur & Maggie Davis.
