A Special Use Committee meeting between the Vandalia City Council and the Fayette County Board will be held on Monday afternoon, with the purpose of the meeting to discuss zoning and solar matters.
At a recent Vandalia Planning Commission meeting, the group was meeting to discuss potentially modifying the Zoning Regulations in Agricultural Districts. But, a large crowd was on hand concerned about a proposed solar farm that is just outside Vandalia City Limits. But, the proposed solar farm does fall within 1.5 miles of the City’s limits, which City Attorney Ryan Connor stated gives the city shared jurisdiction with the county. At that meeting, Mayor Rick Gottman say he wanted to have a joint meeting with the county to further discuss the issue.
The meeting will be held at 4 pm on Monday at Vandalia City Hall.
