(Waukegan, IL) — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is suing over the handling and removal of materials containing asbestos during a demolition project at Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan. Raoul filed a lawsuit claiming the defendants failed to properly inspect for asbestos before beginning to demolish the site, which led to the release of asbestos into the air. The defendants are also accused of failing to properly dispose of materials containing asbestos.
