The Summer Lunches for Kids program is set to get started in just a few weeks. And, they are looking for donations and volunteers.
The program started in 2008 with a mission to provide children with free and nutritious lunches during the summer months when they are not in school. Free lunches will be prepared and distributed by volunteers beginning Wednesday, June 5th through Friday, August 2nd. This year lunches will be available only on Wednesdays and Friday from 11 am to 11:30 am at Northside Christian Church at 1845 W. Jackson Street in Vandalia, the Rogier Park Gazebo and at the Shobonier Township Building.
The Summer Lunches for Kids program is looking for more volunteers and donations for this year.
