William “Bill” Gene Hoffman, 81, of Bingham, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at his home in Bingham, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL with Dr. Ben Foxworth and Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Memorials: Bethel Baptist Church and/or Fayette County Hospice. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 25, 1942, in Bingham, IL, the son of Emmett Marshall & Geneva Beatrice (Hayes) Hoffman. He married Thelma Marie Rhoades on June 30, 1963, in Ramsey, IL. Bill was a farmer all his life; a member of Bethel Baptist Church; he enjoyed sports and when he was young, he performed well in basketball and also the Ramsey Men’s Softball League; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survived by: Wife – Thelma Marie Hoffman, Bingham, IL; Son – William “Billy” Hoffman & Shanin, Ramsey, IL; Daughters – Laurie Wells & Brad, Mulberry Grove, IL and Susan Portz & Eric, Springfield, IL; 12 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; Brother – Robert “Bob” Hoffman, Bingham, IL; Sisters – Joan Moxey, Vandalia, IL, Elaine Michel, Vandalia, IL, and Laurna Casey & Gerald, Bingham, IL.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Brother – Ronald “Ron” Hoffman; Sisters – Laura Fay Hoffman and Juanita Hayes; Brothers-in-law – Bob Michel, Frank Moxey, and Leo Hayes.
