Vandals Junior Wrestler Sophie Bowers will begin her quest for a state title this morning in the Girls State Wrestling Tournament.
The girls individual tournament will be going on at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, with the Dual State Tournament also going on there this weekend. Sophie won the Sectional Championship at the Peoria Richwoods Sectional at 125 pounds. Her first match will be against Nayeli Rodriguez of JS Morton who finished 4th in the weight class at the Evanston Sectional. The first round of matches is set for 9 am today and the quarterfinals will then be at 11 am.
