(Chicago, IL) — The trial of former state senator William “Sam” McCann is being delayed again. McCann’s wife and a standby attorney claimed he wasn’t in court yesterday because he was hospitalized over the weekend after feeling unwell. A status hearing is scheduled for this morning. The former governor candidate was indicted on federal wire fraud, money laundering and tax evasion charges over allegations of misusing more than 200-thousand-dollars worth of campaign funds. His trial was to have begun in November but was postponed.
