Cowden-Herrick girls basketball got the ship righted after two tough losses, getting a big win at home on Monday night, beating Macon Meridian 61-27. The Bobcats were able to get their offense going early and got out to a 19-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. They would put together a 12-5 run in the second quarter, extending their lead to 34-15 at halftime. The third quarter would be the one to put the game away for CHBC as they would outscores the Hawks 24-10 to take a commanding 58-25 lead heading into the fourth and putting the game in running clock territory. After a 3-2 quarter in favor of the Lady Bobcats, CHBC put the game away 61-27. CHBC improves to 16-13 on the season and will have their regular season finale at home on Thursday when they host Ramsey in the final Egyptian Illini Conference game of the season. The game will also be Senior Night as the Lady Bobcats will honor Marissa Summers, Koda Colman, Karlee Smith, Baya Fingo and Ruby Stuckemeyer.
