Ramsey and Mulberry Grove met for the third time this season and Ramsey senior Gunner Finley made sure the Rams got a win for the second time in those three teams, having his best scoring performance of the year to lead the Rams past the Aces’ balanced scoring attack for a 67-57 win over Mulberry Grove. With their last matchup going to the wire in overtime, the teams picked up where they left off, battling evenly through the first eight minutes. Mulberry Grove’s Connor Hartmann, Jackson Icenogle and Carter Scoggins all put in 7 minutes in the quarter while Finley had 15 for Ramsey and the Aces and Rams would be all tied up 23-23 at the end of the first quarter. Ramsey would get a slight advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Aces 12-10 to take a slim 35-33 lead at halftime. The Rams would get some separation in the third quarter as the Aces were outscored 18-8 in the period and Ramsey held a 53-41 lead to start the fourth quarter. Landon Sugg would drop in six points and Logan Bauer five points as Mulberry Grove would outscore Ramey 16-14 n the fourth, but the Aces would come up short of a comeback run and Ramsey would close out the 67-57 win. Ramsey is now 3-16 on the season and will play again on Friday when they host Windsor/Stew-Stras. Mulberry Grove now stands at 4-9 and will play on Friday when they host Lincolnwood.
