(Chicago, IL) — The Illinois Courts Commission will decide whether to punish an Adams County judge who overturned his own guilty verdict in a sexual assault case. Judge Robert Adrian found then 18-year-old Drew Clinton guilty of sexual assault in October 2021. During a sentencing hearing in January, 2022, Adrian vacated Clinton’s conviction. Later, the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board filed a complaint against Adrian. The commission convened yesterday in Chicago for a hearing on whether the veteran judge should face discipline for his actions.
