(Springfield, IL) — Illinois State Police, the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office, and family will be providing an update today on the investigation into the shooting of a state trooper last week in Springfield. Authorities say the Trooper Dakotah Chapman-Green stopped Cristobal Santana. Gunshots were fired and the trooper was hit in the leg. Santana ran off but was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder. He is also a suspect in the deadly shooting of his ex-girlfriend in Chicago.
