The Vandalia girls golf team made some history on Monday turning in their highest finish as a team, placing second in the South Central Conference Tournament at Indian Springs. The Lady Vandals turned in a score of 430 for the day, as North Mac took first with a 377, Litchfield was third with 451, Pana fourth with a 457 and Staunton fifth with 463. Individually, Lady Vandals junior Abby Tate shot a 91 for the day to grab second place behind first place winner Taylor Keirs of North Mac with a 83. The Lady Vandals have a couple of days off now and will begin their postseason play on Thursday, competing in the Effingham St. Anthony Regional at the Effingham Country Club.
