Chance of Showers & Storms This Afternoon–Severe Weather is possible

We have a chance of showers and storms this afternoon and we could see some severe storms and possibly some heavy rain.

We have a chance of showers and storms this afternoon and could see some heavy rain.  We won’t be as hot as originally expected today as we’ll see a high of 91.  Winds out of the south will gust better than 20 miles per hour today.

Meanwhile, there is a chance we could see severe storms this afternoon.  The National Weather Service in St. Louis says they are monitoring the potential for storms to move into portions of northeastern Missouri, west-central Illinois, and south-central Illinois later this morning into the afternoon. If these storms are able to make it into the region, they will be capable of scattered instances of large hail and damaging wind gusts. A few tornadoes are also possible.
