Altamont High School incoming senior Nathan Stuemke is having a strong tournament so far as the catcher for the Indiana Expos National 17U baseball. The Expos are competing in the Pastimes Tournaments Midwest Tournament of Champions in Indianapolis and have completed a 3-0 run through their first three games of pool play. On Thursday, the Expos beat NWI Fury 6-2 before getting two wins on Friday, beating X-Treme 17U Baseball, 14-6, and Top Tier Indiana 17U, 8-0. The Expos will now play Indiana Braves Coughlan at 1:30pm at Butler University to finish pool play and will go into bracket play on Sunday.
Over the first three games, Stuemke is batting .429 as he is 3-7 at the plate with a home run, a double, 2 walks, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.
