
It has now been over 3 years since the first case of COVID-19 in Fayette County. And, while cases are low and have declined more in recent weeks, there are still cases showing up in the county.
The Fayette County Health Department reports there were 5 new cases of COVID-19 this past week in Fayette County. That is down from 8 cases the previous week, 12 the week before that and 15 in the week before that.
In total, Fayette County has seen 8,796 confirmed positive and reported cases of COVID-19 over these past 3 years. There have also been 108 deaths. The current community level for COVID-19 is low while the current transmission based level is listed as substantial.
