Around $30 million dollars has been designated to distribute 60,000 HEPA air purifiers in more than 3,000 Illinois schools across the state. Illinois Department of Public Health public information officer Mike Claffey said the agency has designated taxpayer funds to distribute air purifiers. He said the pandemic taught the importance of good ventilation in classrooms.
In all, 68% of Illinois schools will get air purifiers.
