(Peoria, IL) — A Washington, Illinois woman is going to federal prison for making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. Kirstin Jackson was sentenced to 44 months. Prosecutors say Jackson made false statements while purchasing a pistol from Pekin Gun and Sporting Goods in 2021. She represented she was the actual buyer of the firearm, when in fact, she was purchasing the pistol for her 18-year-old son, who couldn’t legally buy or possess the gun. The firearm was later used in a deadly shooting in Peoria.
